Azerbaijan unveiled number of foreigners who visited country this year

In January–October 2025, 2 million 171.6 thousand foreign citizens and stateless persons arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan from 183 countries of the world, which is 1.7 percent less compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.

According to the information, 24.4 percent of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 17.4 percent from Türkiye, 8.0 percent from Iran, 6.6 percent from India, 4.3 percent from Saudi Arabia, 4.2 percent from Georgia, 4.0 percent from Kazakhstan, 3.4 percent from Pakistan, 2.6 percent from China, 2.4 percent from Israel, 2.3 percent from Uzbekistan, 1.6 percent from the United Arab Emirates, 1.4 percent from Ukraine, 1.2 percent from Turkmenistan, 1.1 percent each from Belarus, the United Kingdom, and Kuwait, and 12.9 percent were citizens of other countries. Of the arrivals, 66.4 percent were men and 33.6 percent were women.

It was noted that compared to the same period of last year, the number of arrivals from Israel increased 2.1 times, from Tajikistan – 1.8 times, from Japan – 1.6 times, from Jordan – 1.5 times, from China – by 49.4 percent, from Kyrgyzstan – by 37.3 percent, from Uzbekistan – by 35.8 percent, from Kazakhstan – by 19.4 percent, from Germany – by 17.0 percent, from Canada – by 16.7 percent, from the USA – by 16.4 percent, from Italy – by 16.3 percent, from Pakistan – by 12.7 percent, and from the Republic of Korea – by 11.8 percent.

Compared to January–October 2024, the number of arrivals from European Union member states increased by 7.9 percent to 101.5 thousand people; the number of arrivals from the Gulf countries decreased by 3.5 percent to 352.6 thousand people; the number of arrivals from CIS countries decreased by 8.2 percent to 740.8 thousand people; while the number of arrivals from other countries increased by 3.5 percent to 976.7 thousand people.

Of the foreign citizens and stateless persons arriving in our country, 76.3 percent used air transport, 22.4 percent used railway and automobile transport, and 1.3 percent used sea transport.
