From January to April 2025, 735,800 foreigners and non-citizen persons from 174 countries visited the Republic of Azerbaijan — a 1.3% increase compared to the same period last year, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
The number of visitors from Israel increased 2.8 times, from Tajikistan 2 times, from China 1.7 times, from Jordan by 45.6%, from India by 32.9%, from Kyrgyzstan by 32.1%, from Spain by 28.8%, from Japan by 26.7%, from Pakistan by 22.5%, from the USA by 20.2%, from Kazakhstan by 17.7%, from the United Arab Emirates by 16.6%, from Canada by 15.5%, from the Netherlands by 10.7%, and from Italy and Egypt by 10%.
It was noted that 24.2% of the visitors were from the Russian Federation, 18% from Türkiye, 11% from India, 9% from Iran, 4.7% from Georgia, 3.6% from Kazakhstan, 2.9% from Pakistan, 2.5% from Saudi Arabia, 2.2% from the United Arab Emirates, 1.9% from Israel, 1.8% each from Uzbekistan and China, 1.5% from Ukraine, 1.4% from Turkmenistan, 1.1% from Kuwait, 1% from Belarus, and 11.4% were citizens of other countries.
Of the total visitors, 70.2% were men and 29.8% were women.
Compared to January–April 2024, the number of visitors from European Union member states increased by 1.8%, reaching 27,800 people; the number of visitors from Gulf countries decreased by 3.4%, totaling 117,800 people; and visitors from CIS countries declined by 9.2%, amounting to 243,000 people. Meanwhile, the number of visitors from other countries rose by 12.2%, reaching 347,200 people.
Among all foreigners and non-citizens who visited Azerbaijan, 71.8% arrived by air, 26.6% by rail and road transport, and 1.6% by sea transport.
