Azerbaijan seen as a gateway to the Caucasus for Chinese tourists, says tourism company head

"For Chinese tourists, Azerbaijan is a gateway to the Caucasus," said Fei Xin, head of the Chinese tourism company "Suzhou Chine", in a statement to APA-Economics.

He said that Chinese tourists are eager to discover new countries and Azerbaijan is an attractive destination for them with its history, culture and seaside landscapes. According to Fei Xin, the Chinese often see Azerbaijan as a starting point for the transition to the Caucasus region - Georgia and Armenia.

The company's head noted that promoting Azerbaijan in China through more presentations and road shows (city-to-city presentations) could lead to a rapid increase in tourism flows. In his opinion, it seems realistic that the number of Chinese tourists will double next year, and increase at a higher rate in the following years.

Fei Xin emphasized that the "China Visitors Summit" plays an important role in cooperation between Chinese and Azerbaijani tourism companies.
