State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been accepted as a member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), the agency told APA-Economics.
The decision in this regard was accepted at the Sustainable Tourism conference held at the Stockholm city of the Kingdom of Sweden. Also, within the framework of the conference, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, supporting the development of sustainable tourism, the adaptation of global sustainable tourism standards to the national level, as well as the application of the Council's criteria in the country are envisaged
