WTO Commission for Europe to hold 49th meeting in Baku

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova–APA. World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Commission for Europe scheduled to hold its 49th meeting and technical workshop on the “Impact of economic crisis on the tourism in Europe” in Baku on March 24-26. Representatives of 45 European countries expected to attend the events, press service of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism told APA. In its 48th meeting in Prague on May 15-16, 2008, UNWTO Commission for Europe decided to hold its next meeting in Baku. Azerbaijan and Bulgaria claimed to host the next meeting. Both countries displayed their tourism opportunities. Azerbaijan gave detailed information about its tourism potential, monuments, statistics of the development of tourism, tourism information centers, representations of the international air companies in Azerbaijan, marketing activities, tourism achievements, priorities of the state program, international relations in the tourism field and development of MICE tourism in Azerbaijan.
Bulgaria withdrew its candidacy in favor of Azerbaijan and it was decided to hold 49th meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe in Baku in March, 2009.
