Azerbaijan and Georgia to establish single tourism product

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan and Georgia are intending to create single tourism product, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Archil Kekelia told APA.

To him, within framework of the visit to Azerbaijan on April 25, Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vera Kobalia conducted discussions on development of tourism sphere between the two countries: “We are intending to establish single tourism product with Azerbaijan, then we will offer this product to European, Asian, American markets”.

Deputy minister said that last year, 2 mln tourists visited Georgia and 500 000 of them were tourists came to Azerbaijan: “We want tourist flow from Azerbaijan to Georgia to increase”.

He noted that last year, number of tourists came to Georgia rose 37% compared to 2009. And finally we expect 40% growth in 2011.
