Azerbaijan-based hotels gets 9% rise in income

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Number of Azerbaijan-based hotels rose 10.4% or 47 units to 499, their rooms – 1.4% or 194 units to 14 158, in 2010.

According to State Statistical Committee, 7.4% of hotels and institutions as hotels belonged to state, 92.6% - to non-state.

At the same time, number of persons in hotels increased 14 200 and 3.4% to 438 500 persons. 226 100 or 51.6% were Azerbaijani, 212 400 or 48.4% - foreign citizens.

The income of hotels rose 9.2% to AZN 105.9 mln: “AZN 71.7 mln of income came from the sale of rooms, AZN 19.5 mln – from food products, AZN 7.7 mln – from health-care services, AZN 7 mln – from other services”.
