Number of foreigners in Azerbaijanâ€™s hotels increases by 13%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. The number of hotels and institutions as hotels rose 39 units to 477 and the number of rooms rose 1 166 units to 14 629 in first half-year.

State Statistical Committee says that of this, 87.8% was private, 9.2% - state, 2.5% - foreign and 0.5% - joint properties.

139 of hotels and institution as hotels are located in Baku, Ganja, Sumgayit. Mingechaur, Naftalan and Shirvan, 22 in Nakhchivan Autonomus Republic, 49 in Khachmaz, 33 in Masalli, 24 in Shamakhi, 27 in Guba, 16 in Ismayilli, 15 in Shaki, 12 in Lankaran, 11 in Zakatala and 129 in other regions of the country. Their income during the same period made AZN 48.5 mln and expenditures made AZN 29.2 mln.

195.2 thousand were placed in hotels and 86.8 thousand of them were citizens, 108.4 thousand â€“ foreigners during the same period up 11.6%, 10.2% and 12.8% compared with a year ago.

Note that the average monthly salary of staffs rose AZN 50 to AZN 258.
