Scientific conference â€œIslamic culture of Baku in the eyes of foreignersâ€ takes place

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. Scientific conference â€œIslamic culture of Baku in the eyes of foreignersâ€ was held in Azerbaijan Tourism Institute, APA reports. Rector of the institute Jafar Jafarov said â€œBaku â€“ Islamic culture capital - 2009â€ culture year program includes over 100 national and international events. Jafarov said the conference is one of them. According to him, Baku, which is rich in historical cultural monuments, also attracts tourists. Rector said â€œWorld Cross-cultural Dialogue Forumâ€ will be held on the initiative of Azerbaijani President in 2011.

Ambassador of Arab Republic of Egypt to Azerbaijan Sabir Abdulgadir Mansur said the whole world and Islamic countries know Azerbaijanâ€™s role in the Islamic culture.
â€œAzerbaijani government has carried out various activities within the framework of the declaration of Baku as capital of Islamic culture. The spread of the Islamic culture in Azerbaijan has an ancient history. This history dates back to the early years of Islam,â€ he said.
