Azerbaijani-Greek Committee for Tourism meets in Baku

Baku. Aynur Veliyeva - APA-ECONOMICS. The Azerbaijani-Greek Committee for Tourism met on Tuesday in Baku for the second meeting.

The purpose of the meeting was to have discussions on the possibility and prospects of developing cooperation in tourism, holding bilateral discussions, launching direct flights between Baku and Athens, conducting training courses in hotel management.

Besides, the sides discussed a number of issues including practical training of students of the Azerbaijan Tourism Institute in Greek travel agencies and hotels, exchange of students between universities, the simplification of visa regime, and other matters arising from the agreement on tourism cooperation between Azerbaijan and Greece.

Aydin Ismiyev, Director of the Baku Tourism Center, said at the meeting that the event will have a positive impact on the development of the tourism relations between the two countries.

He hailed the presence of a delegation of the Greek Ministry of Tourism and the Greek Ambassador Ioannis Metaxas as the indicator of great attention given to the relations.

Maria Tasiou, International Relations Officer of the Greek Ministry of Tourism, said that the meeting will give impetus to the further development of relations in the field of tourism, and help increase tourist flow. .

A joint protocol was signed at the end of the meeting.

The committee first met in Greece on July 26-27.
