"Visits to other Islam-related holy places to be carried out under the aegis of Caucasian Muslims Office as a collective pilgrimage, Hajj and other," said Mubariz Gurbanli, Chairman to the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan in an interview with APA.
According to him, sometimes companies or travel agencies organize such pilgrimages to these places: “And people face problems there, sometimes they cannot return home. Security and transportation measures are not being taken at the appropriate level, and undesirable incidents occur. Therefore, there is such an initiative - these pilgrimages can be conducted with the organization of the Caucasian Muslims Office. Work on this issue is underway.”
“In this regard, there are proposals for making some changes to the Law of Religious Freedom. After reviewing the proposals, along with the Hajj pilgrimage, visits to other Islam-related holy places will be carried out under a single rule. We will be able to resolve these issues after they are considered and adopted in the Milli Majlis,” Mr. Gurbanli said.
