# 23 December 2025 13:21 (UTC +04:00)

Mine clearance activities in the territory of Shusha city will be regulated by new rules, APA reports.

This is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Law “On the Cultural Capital of Azerbaijan – Shusha City,” which was submitted for discussion at today’s meeting of the Agrarian Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis.

According to the draft, mine clearance activities in areas of historical and archaeological significance will be carried out with the participation of a representative of the body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority. In this case, the area will first be reviewed by the body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority, and the preliminary study of monuments will be ensured.

If a monument is discovered during mine clearance activities in the territory of Shusha city, the work must be immediately stopped, and the designated body (institution) of the relevant executive authority must be informed. In this case, the decision on whether to continue the work will be made by the body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority.
