Minister of Health of Ukraine highly appreciated activities of AMU

Rector of Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU), Professor Geray Geraybeyli received a delegation led by the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko, who is on a working visit to our country, AMU told APA.

Welcoming the guests, Professor Geray Geraybeyli emphasized the high level of friendly and cooperative relations formed at the state level between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. He noted the importance of developing mutual relations in the field of healthcare and medical education between the two countries.

The rector familiarized the meeting participants with the activities of AMU, the education system in line with international standards, the reforms implemented, modern scientific and research directions and the work done to expand the university's international relations. Geray Geraybeyli also provided information on the memorandums of cooperation signed between AMU and the Bogomolets National Medical University of Ukraine, Kharkiv National Medical University and other prestigious scientific and educational institutions.

During the meeting, he spoke about the dedication and professionalism of Azerbaijani military doctors during the Second Karabakh War and wished the Ukrainian people peace and prosperity soon.

In turn, the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and spoke about the importance of the visit. The Minister highly appreciated the activities of the employees of the Azerbaijan Medical University and their contribution to the development of medical science.

Viktor Lyashko emphasized that friendly relations between Ukraine and Azerbaijan are based on the principles of mutual trust and respect. He noted that expanding cooperation in the areas of healthcare, medical education and scientific research would be beneficial for both countries, and that joint initiatives in this direction would be supported.

Deputy Minister of Health Nadir Zeynalov provided information about successful projects implemented jointly with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, especially on improving medical education. He also spoke about the important work carried out by the ministry over the past years and reforms in the field of medicine.

The meeting continued with a discussion of the implementation of joint projects of mutual interest, new opportunities for cooperation and future directions of partnership.
