Private companies have begun operating in the field of mine clearance in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) said in response to an inquiry from APA.
It was noted that humanitarian demining activities in the liberated territories involve ANAMA together with relevant state bodies, one non-governmental organization, and five private companies. During their period of activity, private companies have cleared more than 36,000 hectares of land of mines and other explosive remnants of war, and have detected over 21,000 mines and unexploded ordnance.
