Deputy Minister: 24 people died, 94 were injured in workplace accidents this year in Azerbaijan

"The Government of Azerbaijan is working closely with the International Labor Organization," said Metin Kerimli, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population at the conference entitled “The International Labor Organization's approach to strategic compliance planning. Labor Inspection and Employment Policy", organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and the International Labor Organization (ILO).

The Deputy Minister noted that inspections of business entities were suspended until January 1, 2021: “For this reason, the State Labor Inspection Service conducts an investigation on the basis of complaints received, answers are given to legal entities and citizens. I also note that within 6 months of the current year, the State Service for Labor Inspection received 3 thousand 964 complaints, 3 thousand 106 letters from legal entities. 708 citizens were taken individually by the leadership of the State Labor Inspection Service. Within 6 months, payment of detained social payments to citizens in the amount of up to 52,000 manats was ensured. 77 people illegally dismissed from work, reinstated in their former places. As a result of workplace accidents, 24 people died, 94 were injured. ”
