Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth and Sports awards APA's employee

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan held a meeting with journalists covered the II European Games in Minsk, APA reports.

Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Ismayil Ismayilov and the ministry's spokesperson Samaya Mammadova attend the meeting.

I. Ismayilov thanked journalists on behalf of the Minister Azad Rahimov and spoke about the state’s care and attention to sport in Azerbaijan.

Noting that the Baku 2015 I European Games were held at a high level, he added it would be more reasonable to award the title of the European Olympic Games to the event.

The Deputy Minister also mentioned the role of journalists in the promotion of successful performances of athletes: “28 medals from 82 athletes is a great success. However, it should not be lean back to previous success. Tokyo Summer Olympic Games will not be like European Games.”

S. Mammadova stated the employees of a number of leading media organizations participated in the II European Games in Minsk with the support of the Ministry and their own.

Journalists, who were sent to Minsk by the Youth and Sports Ministry, were awarded upon the decision of Azad Rahimov. APA correspondent Tahir Hummatov was among the journalists who received the honorary decrees. He was awarded for his professionalism in the coverage of the "Minsk 2019 II European Games"
