Next year, a total of 15,000 families are expected to join the self-employment program in Azerbaijan, including 8,000 through the Unemployment Insurance Fund and 7,000 under the World Bank project, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev said during the discussion of the “2026 State Budget Envelope of the Republic of Azerbaijan” at the joint meeting of the Committees on Labor and Social Policy, Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), APA reports.
The minister noted that, within this framework, a new package will be introduced to increase the variety of options offered to citizens: “In 2026, in order to expand vocational training and additional education opportunities for unemployed and job-seeking individuals, relevant work is planned to involve about 17,500 trainees in this process. The training process is planned to be carried out by vocational training centers under the State Employment Agency, as well as by private educational institutions.”
