A delegation from the Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU) visited the Samarkand State Medical University (SSMU) and the Tashkent State Medical University (TSMU), AMU told APA.
In the first part of the visit, the delegation attended the Samarkand State Medical University. The rector of AMU, Professor Geray Geraybeyli, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the international scientific-practical conference titled “Current Issues of Surgery and Oncology in Major Localizations,” co-organized by SSMU.
During the meeting between the rectors of SSMU and AMU, it was emphasized that close cooperation between the two higher education institutions continues successfully. It was noted that a memorandum of understanding exists between the two universities. Within the framework of this memorandum, student and faculty exchanges, reciprocal visits, and joint scientific projects are regularly carried out.
AMU’s rector, Professor Geray Geraybeyli, highlighted the significance of the visit, stating: “Our relations with Samarkand Medical University are based on mutual respect and trust. We believe that our cooperation in the fields of education, scientific research, and innovative projects will continue to expand further.”
