Digital map of Absheron archipelago composed

National Academy of Sciences composed digital map of the bottom of Absheron archipelago, director of Geology Institute, Akif Alizadeh said at the press conference held on the outcomes of last year, APA reports. He noted that last year his institute together with the Institute of Geography of ANAS continued the research of â€œGIS analysis of the Caspian sea environmentâ€ with using â€œRemote probing and information of seaâ€™s investigationsâ€ which financed by Ukraine Science and Investigation Centre (USIC-ANAS). As a result of this work data base of hydro meteorology parameters of the Caspian region was created, digital map of the bottom of Absheron archipelago was composed with showing submarine volcanoes and sources of anthropogenic pollution. Oil spots of Baku Bay and Absheron archipelago were discovered in the map and estimated in quantitative.
