SSAC rejects Education Ministryâ€™s call to announce invalid the book â€œBiology: general biologyâ€

Spokesman for the SSAC Elnur Nagizadeh told APA that it is the right of the SSAC to publish these books and they will not be removed from sale.
â€œThe State Student Admission Commission is a government agency. According to its regulations, SSAC has the right to publish books to help entrants. The Commission has been publishing these books since 2007. It is regarded as normal in the whole world that an organization dealing with assessment publishes books to help entrants. These books do not aim to replace the textbook. Every young person learns first of all from secondary school textbooks. Books are published on all subjects with the view of systematizing the knowledge on the eve of the entrance exams. The statement made by the Biology section says that the Education Ministry did not approve the book in 2011, therefore it can not be regarded as a textbook. â€œManualâ€, not â€œtextbookâ€ is written on the book published by the commission. We have analyzed how helpful these books are for the entrants. Recent polls show that the books published by the commission were the handbook of successful entrants. These books especially help the entrants living in the remote regions. These books are great contribution for the Azerbaijani youth, teachers,â€ he said.
