Azerbaijani Education and Health ministries issue statement on studentâ€™s death

He submitted health certificate while entering the schoolâ€, chief of the vocational education department of the Ministry of Education Namiq Mammadov told APA. He said the students of the vocational school No.7 in Lokbatan were vaccinated in that day and Namiq Salmanov died on return to the school. But reasons of his death have not been identified yet and it is difficult to say whether he died as a result of vaccination. It will be clear after the forensic examinationsâ€.

Spokeswoman for the Health Ministry Safaye Ahmadova told APA that the students were not vaccinated. â€œIt was only Mantoux test for TB. It is skin test and can not cause a death. Totally 58 people, including 19 students of above-mentioned school passed Mantoux test and no one of them felt badâ€.

Ahmadova said forensic experts have not released the results of examinations yet and the investigation is underway.

The student of vocational school No 7 in Lokbatan settlement of Baku Salmanov Namiq Nadir, 16 died in the school on return from the polyclinic.
