Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that he held phone conversations with 12 foreign ministers from countries in the region over the past 48 hours, APA's Tehran bureau reports.
In a post on Instagram, he noted that separate phone conversations with the foreign ministers of Oman, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Cyprus, Türkiye, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Iraq, and Pakistan focused on the latest regional and international developments, as well as the consequences of what he described as escalating actions by the United States and Israel.
Araghchi stated that during these consultations, he outlined the principled position of the Islamic Republic of Iran and emphasized the importance of respecting the national sovereignty of states, ending aggression and threats, refraining from destructive interference by foreign powers, and the responsibility of regional countries to prevent the further spread of security instability.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also highlighted his country's right to defend its sovereignty and national security, as well as the need to establish regional security mechanisms without interference from powers outside the region.
