Umayra Tagiyeva: The weather will grow normal in Azerbaijan from tomorrow

Kamala Guliyeva – APA. “According to meteorological forecasts of many years, the weather conditions observed in Azerbaijan on November 24 were recorded in 1950 and 1957 since 1896,” Umayra Tagiyeva, director of Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry’s National Hydrometeorological Department Bureau told APA.

She said the weather changed on November 23 after cold anticyclone came to northern and western regions of Azerbaijan from the territory of Central Russia, on the night of November 24 the weather sharply grew cold.
“Precipitations are observed in most regions of the republic, it is sleeting, snowing. In most regions the amount of precipitation reached the monthly norm. The amount of precipitation in Sumgayit was 23 mm. This is 83 percent of the monthly norm. The amount of precipitation in Baku was equal to 48 percent of the monthly norm. The snow-cover height in Altiagaj was 26 cm, Tengealti village of Guba 24 cm, Khaltan 22 cm, Khinalig 15 cm,” she said.

Umayra Tagiyeva said strong wind is also observed in the country.
“The speed of the mind reached 32 m in Absheron peninsula. According to the Oil Rocks station, the height of the wave in the open sea reached 6.4 m. Today is considered the most unfavorable day. The precipitations will gradually stop first in western, later in eastern regions from November 25. The strong wind will become milder tomorrow afternoon,” she said.

The temperature will be 0… -4 C in Absheron peninsula tonight. The roads are expected to be frozen on the night of November 24-25.
“All relevant organizations have been informed about it,” she said.
