Hidayat Orujov: We are concerned over the views of some circles in fraternal Turkey against Azerbaijan
Noting that like fraternal Turkey, Azerbaijan is a secular state Orujov said the ideal model had been chosen in most developed countries to maintain the purity of the religion, prevent its politicization.
Chairman of the committee expressed concern over the some groundless media reports in Turkey about the religious sphere of Azerbaijan, pickets organized on the orders of some circles claiming the violation of religious freedom in Azerbaijan.
“Some groups claim that Turkish mosque has been closed in Azerbaijan. First of all, a mosque is the house of Allah and it is not right to classify it as a Turkish mosque, Azerbaijani mosque. After our country regained its independence fraternal Turkey built 23 mosques in Azerbaijan, 22 of them have been functioning. Only one mosque has been temporarily closed for repair. Some claim that hijab is banned in Azerbaijan. According to the legislation, uniform is worn in secondary schools of Azerbaijan, like in other secular states, including Turkey. It is absurd to regard it as the violation of freedom of religion. We know very well who they are and whom they are guided by. I want you to learn the Azerbaijani realities during the visit and after returning to Turkey and express your views concerning such groundless reports,†he said.
The head of the delegation, chairman of the education section of Turkey’s State Personnel Department Ekrem Kuru they took pride in Azerbaijan’s development, achievements in the political arena of the world. Ekrem Kuru said they regarded all problems of Azerbaijan, mainly Nagorno Karabakh problem as the problem of Turkey. The head of the delegation underlined that Turkey was also concerned over the some circles’ views against Azerbaijan. But the views of small groups are not the views of the Turkish people. Such small groups can not damage the brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
They also exchanged views on the issues of mutual cooperation.
