Azerbaijan to hold first doctorate examinations tomorrow

18 October 2011 10:28 (UTC +04:00)

The qualification examinations will take place until October 25.

On October 26, ANAS doctorate examinations on philosophy and foreign languages will take place. The examinations will be finished in November. Hashimov said 478 applications for 215 doctorate places in ANAS think tanks.

The doctorate examinations for the universities subordinated to the Education Ministry will last from October 20 until November 20, head of the Education Ministry’s department of sciences Gultakin Huseynova told APA. The examinations will be held in 19 universities at the same time with interviews at the respondent units.

As distinct from the ANAS system, the Education Ministry will also implement paid education in the university doctorates. “ANAS doesn’t implement the paid education system this year to attract more students. But there are many applicants for the university doctorates. Therefore the Education Ministry implements both free and paid education. It was considered by the doctorate admission rulesâ€.

The education official said that the Education Ministry’s doctorates consider 500 places on PhD programs and 206 of them will get paid education. 68 people will be admitted on doctor programs. Huseynova said tuition fees would be regulated by the universities. The universities will sign a deal with the doctorate students. Tuition fees will start from 600 AZN.
