Azerbaijan hosts World Youth Festival - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov, Head of Ganja City executive Power Elman Veliyev, MPs and the winners of "Eurovision-2011" Eldar and Nigar. Delivering speeches at the event, the lecturers welcomed the foreign guests and told that this year has been declared the Year of Youth in Azerbaijan, and that this event is being held on the eve of 870th anniversary of Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi and the 20th anniversary of independence of Azerbaijan.

Participating in the festival the guest from Hungary Virag Perzse answered questions of journalists: “It is my first participation in such event and my first visit to Azerbaijan. Baku is very beautiful city I really liked it. But I can not share my impressions about Ganja, because we have just arrived in here recently”.

Competitor from Germany Tran Ngoj Truc also shared his impressions about our country: “I did not know that Azerbaijan and Baku are so modern. I have participated in such events and hope that we can learn a lot after this festival too”.

Thereafter, the participants of the festival made a walk in Heydar Aliyev park. Here, guests were informed about the House of Youth, which will soon be built here. Head of Ganja City Executive Power Elman Valiyev said: “After two years you will see here the biggest park in Europe, covering an area of 360 hectares. Youth Centre and Heydar Aliyev Center will be built here”.

Then, the Minister of Youth and Sport Rahimov spoke about 6 youth houses operating in in various parts of Azerbaijan: “One of the items considered in the State Program of Youth in Azerbaijan for 2011-2015 signed by the President of Azerbaijan is the construction of youth houses. From next year 10 centers of youth will be built in different cities and regions of Azerbaijan”.
