Chief and several officers of Capital Construction Department of Azerbaijani Education Ministry dismissed

Baku. Sevil Zeynalgizi â€“ APA. The Education Ministry publicized the shortcomings in the construction and overhaul of schools. The Ministry told APA that some shortcomings had been revealed as the relevant state agencies of the Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office carried out investigation in 77 schools of Baku. Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office sent a report to Education Ministry on â€œEliminating the wrongdoings revealed in the construction and overhaul of secondary schoolsâ€.

The report was discussed with the participation of the representatives of the Department to Combat Corruption under Prosecutor General and Education Ministry. It was said that all the shortcomings revealed in the construction and overhaul in 77 schools of Baku had been eliminated by the Capital Construction Department of the Education Ministry.

According to the General Prosecutorâ€™s Officeâ€™s presentation, the Education Ministry used serious disciplinary reproach on several ranking officials who violated law in the field of school construction and overhaul, their acceptance of work. Chief of Capital Construction Department of the Education Ministry and some responsible officials were dismissed from their posts because of shortcoming at their work. Some employees of the Education Ministry and facility leaders, who are responsible for that work, were seriously warned.

The relevant instructions were given to the Ministryâ€™s corresponding structures, local education management bodies and education establishments in connection with organization and holding of tenders on construction and improvement of general education schools accordance to law, control over carrying out of improvement and construction work, the improvement of normative acts considering the adoption of work accordance to exploitation, the development of mechanism ensuring the realizations of works by professional and specialized experts, the acceptance of improvement and construction work to exploitation accordance to law, taking of necessary measures towards the increase of transparency through involvement of school parents committee, parent-teacher association to this process.
