Azerbaijan increases education expenditures

This is 12.6% more compared to 2011, 33.5% more compared to 2010. APA was told by the Finance Ministry that it is indicated in the draft state budget for 2012.

The specific weight of the funds allocated for education expenditures in the state budget will be 9.3 percent. AZN 16.5 million will be spent on provision of schools with information and communication technologies, AZN 89.6 million on application of new financing mechanism in the higher school system, AZN 8.5 million on financing of preschool education, AZN 8.1 million on provision of school children with free books, AZN 4.5 million on material technical provision, AZN 3 million on reconstruction and overhaul of education educational institutions, AZN 2.5 million on purchase of laboratory equipment, AZN 2.2 million on material technical base of school libraries and provision with modern information technologies, AZN 1.9 million on reforms in secondary education, AZN 1.7 million on financial provision of vocational education, AZN 1.4 million on the implementation of the â€œState Program for adoption of children from state childrenâ€™s homes and alternative careâ€, AZN 1 million on best school and best teacher award, AZN 0.3 million on special scholarships for the talented youth.
