World Health Organization: Azerbaijan is one of the countries with the least suicide cases

Baku - APA. The World Health Organization announced the list of countries with the most suicide cases. APA reports the number of suicides in Armenia, the population of which is less than Azerbaijan, is more than Azerbaijan for 3 times. Georgia is also in the list of countries with most suicide cases. The number of suicide cases in Georgia is 8.8 people per 100000. 80% of self-murderers in Georgia are the men. The suicide attempt was not considered during the development of the ranking table.

According to the report, Lithuania (71,7 facts per 100000 person), Russia (64.3 facts) and Belarus (57.5 facts) take the first 3 places in for suicide cases in post soviet area. Latvia (48.2 facts) and Hungary (50 facts) are among the leading countries.

The situation in Azerbaijan is better in comparison with Georgia. The number of suicide cases in Azerbaijan is 1.3 facts per 100000, but in Armenia this number is 3.9.

The Republic of South Africa, Iran, Jamaica, Haiti and Honduras are among the countries with the least suicide cases. The best situation in the Western Europe is in Germany, Denmark, Austria and Norway.
