Azerbaijan takes part in the first meeting of expert group on UN Social Statistics

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan has taken part in the first meeting of expert group of the UN Social Statistics on Asian and Pacific Countries, in Bangkok, Thailand.

According to State Statistical Committee, the Expert Group included specialists of 10 countries (Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Mongolia, Philippine, Singapore) and 3 international organizations (ADB, the Secretariat of the Pacific Community and UNESCAP).

Azerbaijan was represented by the member of expert group, representative of Labor Statistics Department of State Statistical Committee, at the meeting.

The event aimed to exchange national and regional opinions on improvement of social statistics on Asian and Pacific Countries, determining of main duties and functions of the expert group in the future, at the same time, discussion of annual act plan on 2011-2012.
