Azerbaijani President receives General Director of World Health Organization

APA reports quoting the Presidentâ€™s official website that General Director Margaret Chan expressed her gratitude to the government of Azerbaijan, and personally to President Aliyev, for high-level organization of the 61st session of the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe. Having recalled with content her previous visits to Azerbaijan, Margaret Chan said she had witnessed high development in the country during this time period. She noted that participation of delegations from 53 countries in this event was important for closely observing the development processes ongoing in the country.

The President also touched upon the significance of organizing the 61st session of the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe in Baku. President Aliyev mentioned that this event had created a great opportunity for delegations from different countries across the world to get closely acquainted with Azerbaijan and the works, carried out in the sphere of health care in the country. The President expressed his gratitude for the World Health Organizationâ€™s support to Azerbaijan. Having underlined the existing successful cooperation between the WHO and relative agencies in Azerbaijan, the President also expressed hope in further expansion of this cooperation in the future.
