More persons with sunstroke came to Emergency Medical Aid Station in past three days in Azerbaijanâ€™s capital

Baku. Sevil Zeynalgizi â€“ APA. â€œSunstroke can not be considered an ordinary disease. Sunstroke is a very serious disease. As the weather is hot the people must protect themselves from sunstroke,â€ head physician of Baku Emergency Medical Aid Station Mursal Hamidov told APA.

Hamidov said the people were again warned that it is dangerous to stay out-of-doors from 11.00 till 17.00.
â€œThose who want to rest out-of-doors must do it by 11.00 and after 17.00. One can rest at the beaches at these hours, too. In the other hours it is dangerous to stay out-of-doors, one can get sunstroke,â€ he said.

Hamidov said one can pay attention to the clothes, when the temperature is high. Linen and cotton clothes must be worn, clothes must not be tight.
â€œThe people must observe hygiene rules. Keeping skin clean normalizes respiration. If the skin is dirty, the pores are closed, it will raise the core temperature. This and high air temperature may cause sunstroke,â€ he said.

Hamidov also gave recommendations concerning the emergency aid to the people with sunstroke.
â€œThe person, who got sunstroke, must be immediately taken to the shade, clothes must be unbuttoned, drink must be given to that person, water-soaked gauze must be put on the open parts of the body,â€ he said.

Head physician said everyone must have much drinks on such days.
â€œIn summer body loses much water, this causes hemoconcentration. Therefore, people must have cool drinks,â€ he said.

Hamidov said more persons with sunstroke came to the station in the past three days.
â€œ9 persons with sunstroke came in the past three days. The number of the persons with sunstroke, who came to the station this summer, reached 70. 5 out of 9 were hospitalized, the others were offered medical aid and discharged. In general, 22 out of 70 persons with sunstroke were hospitalized,â€ he said.
