Chairman of State Social Protection Fund: â€œFinancing of pensions together with allowances has begun from this weekâ€

Baku. Sevil ZeynalgÄ±zÄ± - APA-Economics. â€œAll appropriate measures are being carried out for fulfillment of technical works in providence of people with pension increase. Already this week, the State Fund of Social Protection has begun issuing pension (with surcharges) on schedule, chairman of State Social Protection Fund Salim Muslumov said at todayâ€™s board meeting devoted to outcomes of first half-year of 2011.

He said that very serious reform measures were realized in the first half-year of 2011 for strengthening of social protection of labor pensioners: â€œThat is, in accordance with amendments and annexes made to law on labor pensions, for greater integration of the pension rights existing before January 1, 2006, to a new system of retirement pensions. On the basis of new regulations increase of pensions in Azerbaijan will make an average of 40% and will affect 845 thousand pensionersâ€.

Muslimov added that social protection of pensioners with scientific degrees was also strengthened: "Thus, from July 1, AZN 200 will be added to the basic pension of non-working pensioners with no scientific degree and who have 25 years of experience in research and educational institutions, AZN 120 to doctors of science and Ph.D.â€.
