Pensions of non-working scientists increased in Azerbaijan

According to information, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev ratified the amendments to the law on Labor Pensions considering the rise of pensions of persons having academic degree.

According to amendments, labor pensions of people having academic degree have been sharply increased in Azerbaijan. That is, basic part of pensions of persons having 25 years of experience in research and educational institutions, having a degree, but not working, will be increased to AZN 200 for a doctorate and AZN 120 to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.

This growth will be concerned 5910 people - 4450 candidates of science and 1460 doctors of science. The amendments will be concerned non-working doctors of science and candidates of science and 10 mln additional funds are needed for it within a year.

To him, at present, work at state-financed research institutions: â€œEach of pension cases will be approach personally. The second condition is that it will concern to people who do not workâ€.

Note that, application of the amendments to the law on Labor Pensions considering recalculation and increase of all pension rights gained until 2006 in Azerbaijan has been started to apply since July 1. This growth will cause sharp increase of pensions of 845 thousand labor pensioners
