It was decided to consider the results of education Ministry’s trial and final exams as well as trial exams of the State Students Admission Committee. That’s why the number of medalists were very small”, said Education Minister Misir Mardanov, APA reports.

According to him, the Education Ministry sent the list of 60 persons to the SSAC: “The 35 of these candidates were awarded with golden medal for their results both in mock and final exams, as well as trial exams held by SSAC, 16 persons were awarded with the silver medal. The results of 9 persons are not high, that’s why they were not given the medals.13 of golden medalists are graduates of Baku city comprehensive schools, 10 persons - from schools subordinated to the Education Ministry, 5 – form private schools, 7 – from regional schools. 5 silver medalists are graduates from Baku schools, 5 – from schools subordinated to the Education Ministry, 1 – from private school, 5 – from regional schools”.

Mardanov said that the admission of golden and silver medalists to the higher education establishments without exams is not in the agenda this year: “I don’t know what will happen. One cannot hurry in these issues. I am sure that every golden and silver medalist can enter their favorite universities. ”
