Azerbaijani Ministry of Education: â€œIt is not known yet how the teachers above 65 will retireâ€

Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. â€œThe concept has been elaborated on the giving the status of civil servant to the teachers, and has been presented to the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijanâ€, said chief of Education Ministryâ€™s department for strategic studies and management of personnel Farzali Gadirov, APA reports.

According to him, to concern the special type of civil servant to the teachers, as well as several novelties concerning their social security and commitments are expected in the concept: â€œIt is too early to speak about concrete security and commitments. The proposals will be adopted after the discussion on itâ€.

Gadirov said that the concept would also concern veteran teachers who had worked before and retired: â€œIf the teachers are given the status, certainly, it must and will concern the people worked and working as a teacherâ€.

According to the department chief, there are 17 000 workers in Azerbaijani education system who are above 65 years, 10% of all teachers: â€œIt is not so great number. There is a density of teachers in the country. I suppose that the step, which will be taken on age, will not cause lack of personnel at schools. Some serious situation can be established in the outlying villages. One teacher is working there on one subject. But this problem can be solved. The Education Ministry will carry out the admission of the new teachers after the ratification of the resolution. We will be able to find and send the teachers to these regionsâ€.

Gadirov said that the majority of education employees, whose are above 65, are private teachers. But there are persons whose ages passed 65 among the school directors. But their common percent is not more from 10%: â€œat present time, all the teachers are on vacation. They will return to their work after vacation. When the government will give a task to start this work, the process will start. One can not say now that the teachers, whose ages passed 65, will retire at once or stage-by-stage. It will depend on the governmentâ€™s decision. â€
