Cucumber testing results publicized in Azerbaijan

Contamination of nitrates, heavy metals, chemical-toxic substances was examined in the samples, head of the laboratory Yagub Ibrahimov told APA. â€œNo negative cases were identified during the testing. I would like to note that agricultural products produced in Azerbaijan are safe than imported products because our farmers use chemical substances less than foreigners and it is not dangerous for human health. These substances canâ€™t create conditions for viruses, in contrary, they kills such virusesâ€.

Ibrahimov said cucumber produced by local farmers and imported form Turkey and Iran was sold in the Azerbaijani markets now. â€œSometimes contamination of nitrates is above normal, but we take necessary measures in these casesâ€.

The extension of virus infection area in Europe and its identification in Georgia demands to enhance sanitary-epidemiological control in Azerbaijan. Testing the samples of cucumber taken from the markets is the part of these measures.
