Storm causes serious problems in Azerbaijanâ€™s Zagatala region

According to APAâ€™s local bureau, unstable weather conditions have dominated in the north-western regions of the country since the Saturday evening. One-hour stormy wind and heavy rains caused serious problems in Zagatala region damaging private and public dwelling buildings, social and public facilities and paralyzing electricity system. It also caused serious traffic problems on Yevlakh-Zagatala-Georgia highway.

Local authorities told APA roofs of 26 multi-storey buildings, including ten education centers like humanitarian gymnasium, secondary school No 5 an etc. Stormy wind pulled up more than 200 trees, destroying the recreation and entertainment park in Zagatala.

Stormy wind accompanied by heavy rains seriously damaged electricity and communication turning over nearly 100 power posts, damaging power and communication lines. Officers of the Emergency Commission first turned hand to repair of road infrastructure. Relevant organizations are working for elimination of the storm after-effects.
