Over the last four years in Azerbaijan 71 police officers were excluded from the service because of attempt to take money from the citizens

For the period of National Strategy carrying out, the Ministry received more than 137.000 complains from the citizens, including 3182 citizensâ€™ direct appeal to the Internal Investigations Department. Only 1 percent of citizensâ€™ appeals were connected with corruption. Chief of MIAâ€™s Secretariat, Police Major-General Nazim Aliyev said today in the board meeting held at the ministry.
On the bases of 26 cases, 71 police officers were excluded from the service because of attempt to take money from the citizens, 11 people were dismissed, 22 people were punished, 8 cases were sent to prosecutorâ€™s office for legal assessment.
It was noted that the â€œNational action plan on protection of human rights in Azerbaijan Republicâ€ approved by the presidential decree, dated 28 December 2006, which plays an important role in the activity, is implemented in the order of sequence. In this regard, in 2008-2010 on the bases of 437 cases, related to human and civil rights violations, 685 employees were subjected to serious disciplinary reproofs as well as 34 people were expelled from police service.
