State Committee on Deals of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons to appeal to National Security Ministry and Interior Ministry â€“ <font color=red>UPDATED </font>

Baku. Ali Ahmadov â€“ APA. The State Committee on Deals of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons reacted to the media reports that the committee burned the documents of the Azerbaijani refugees from Armenia several years ago, APA reports.

Chairman of the Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov said he will appeal to the National Security Ministry and Interior Ministry to clarify the purpose of such reports.

Local media reported a few days ago quoting Firudin Jalilov and Eldar Namazov that the personal property documents of the refugees from Armenia were burned when the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons moved to a new building. The reports say that burning of documents deprives the refugees of the opportunity to bring an action against the Armenian state.

At the press conference held at the office of the New Azerbaijan Party the Committee leadership refuted the reports.
â€œFirudin Jalilov, who was minister during the leadership of the Popular Front Party, and Eldar Namazov, who once held the highest post at the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, gave these reports to the media. I was astonished at the lie and slander of such persons when I read this article. Both of them are intelligent and held high posts. I have not heard Firudin Jalilov express a biased opinion. Eldar Namazov held a high post, he is a well-informed person. At first, I did not react to these reports, but later I saw that other media outlets also released similar news, the people from Western Azerbaijan, those who wanted to demonstrate heroism, began to react to it,â€ he said.

Ali Hasanov refuted the reports that the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons had personal property documents of the refugees.
â€œNo refugee had given the personal property document to the committee before my chairmanship. Let them find a refugee from Armenia, who submitted the personal property document to the committee. It is absurd. People keep personal property documents at home as valuable documents. I also keep my personal property document at home,â€ he said.

Ali Hasanov said the archive of the State Committee was created after he was appointed chairman of the committee and now all documents are kept in this archive. As regards Eldar Namazovâ€™s proposal on offering opportunities to familiarize with the archives of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, Ali Hasanov said the archive is open and anyone can familiarize with the documents.
â€œOur archive is open. I offer the journalists together with Eldar Namazov to familiarize with the archive right now,â€ he said.

According to Hasanov, the archive contains not only documents submitted to the committee, but also the documents once gathered by the Society of Refugees.
â€œOnce the chief of that organization gave those documents to me, we released two books using all of these documents, the documents are kept in the archive,â€ he said.

Ali Hasanov said the committee strongly supports the refugees from Armenia in bringing action against Armenia. According to him, such groundless reports are nothing but attempts to instigate the refugees from Armenia against the state.
â€œIt affects the feelings of the people from Western Azerbaijan, aims to cause their discontent with the state,â€ he said.

The committee chairman told chief of the Cabinetâ€™s department for refugees Gurban Sadigov to prepare a letter regarding it. The appeal will ask to investigate the activity of the newspapers releasing such reports.

â€œI ask to investigate the newspapers, which within the past week released false, slanderous reports that the personal property documents of the western Azerbaijanis were burned, published a material that may cause serious discontent of the people. I want the purpose of these reports to be investigated,â€ he said.
