Commemoration ceremony of scientist-journalist Tofig Rustamov held

Guba. Zaur Guliyev - APA. The commemoration ceremony dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Azerbaijani well-known scientist, journalist and public figure Tofig Guliyev has been held in Guba today. Chairman of Azerbaijani Press Council Aflatun Amashov, dean of faculty of journalism of Baku State University Yalchin Alizadeh, member of Public Broadcasting Council Jahangir Mammadli, employees of Guba region Executive Power, Media representatives Rustamovâ€™s relatives attended the meeting.

APAâ€™s Northern bureau reports that the attendees spoke about Rustamovâ€™s life and activity. It was noted that in 1953 Rustamov entered the journalism faculty of Azerbaijan State University. After graduating from the university he worked as a special correspondent to Azerbaijan of one of the prestigious USSRâ€™s â€œUchitelskaya gazetaâ€. Later he worked in Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Broadcasting Committee, was deputy of the Parliament. In 1967, he got the Journalistsâ€™ Unionâ€™s â€œGolden Penâ€ prize.
