Public debates held on State Program of Azerbaijani Youth for 2011-2015

According to APA, the working groups discussed the social protection and healthcare of the youth, support of their business activity, raising the youthâ€™ patriotic feelings, development of education, sciences and creative potential of the young people, their participation in administration and civil society, including international cooperation and exchange.

Then Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov, department chief of the Presidential Administration Elnur Aslanov, deputy education minister Elmar Gasimov, chairman of the Commission on Public Services Bahram Khalilov attended the debates. First the participants were informed about the discussions held by the working groups. Moderators said various proposals, including organizing forums to discuss Karabakh conflict in different countries, launching Karabakh websites within the domains of those countries, visiting the military bases by the schoolchildren, instruction by the professional officers, interest-free mortgage loans for the charity people, founding the career centers at the boarding schools, development of business centers in the regions, training of personnel, coordination between the vocational and higher schools and business organizations and others were sounded during the discussions.

The Azerbaijanis studying in the UK also joined the public discussions through Skype and put forward their proposals. Broad discussions started after that.

Elnur Aslanov said changes should be made in the introduction of the Azerbaijani history in the textbooks.
â€œAzerbaijan is the leader in the region in terms of economy, and should become leader in terms of intellectual human potential. After that public discussions should be continued in the higher schools. A special newspaper should be founded for the youth. Special education centers should be established for the handicapped persons,â€ he said.

The state and government representatives answered the questions of the young persons.
