Head of the department for international relations and information of the State Committee for Town Building and Architecture of Azerbaijan Jahangir Gojayev spoke about the plans on future of the country’s third biggest city.
“Sumgait city executive power wants to apply model of Ganja city. But their offer has not been included to the Main Plan. The offer on division of Sumgait city has not been economically justified. Regional Issues Committee of the Parliament should be engaged in this matter”, he said.
At the same time, Committee official noted that main plan of Sumgait city would be prepared in the near future: “If we enlarge the territory of Sumgait, then territory of Absheron will be limited in this region”.
