Several sub centers to be created in Azerbaijan apart from Baku

Those sub centers will consist of industrial, cultural and trade centers, Head of the International Relations & Information of the State Committee for Urban Planning & Architecture of Azerbaijan Jahangir Gojayev told APA.

To him, such centers will be created with the condition to preserve the city’s historically formed historical and architectural environment: “At present, the population density is very high in Baku. Even during the weekends, people prefer to ride the same center. In general, the Greater Baku Regional Development Plan envisages the creation of some centers. Thus, the techno-industrial sub centers will be located in Sumgait, Balakhany and the other in Garadagh, Alat zone. One of the other cultural and commercial sub centers will be located in Boyukshor, another in Khirdalan. In addition, existence of the bus terminal in Bilajari and reduction of lines in the railway station can lead to the creation of a new center in future. At the same time, Khirdalan is also considered to become a mobile zone. We intend to eliminate the pressure in the central part of the city.”

Mining areas around Baku are planned to be recultivated. According to the plan, approximately 25,000 ha will be recultivated and planted in future.
