Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen said that the new bridge will be available for vehicles, the old bridge for pedestrians. He thanked the delegations, especially the Border Troops and foreign ministries and characterized the opening of the new bridge as an indicator of the desire and will of the leaders and officials of both countries for development of bilateral relations. The ambassador expressed his confidence that this will increase the trade links between the citizens of the two countries.
Iran has prohibited the transportation of more than 30 tonnes of cargo through the old bridge over Araz river in Julfa.
