New airport opened in Azerbaijan

Head of the state firstly met with the residents of the city.

President of Azerbaijan cut the red ribbon symbolizing the opening.

President of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC Jahangir Asgerov informed that new flight strip and apron were constructed, air terminal was modernized, and buildings were restored.

The airport was rebuilt in accordance with the modernist standards. New runway in the length of 2,520 meters, width of 40 meters and with 105,000 m² total area was constructed. Former length of the runway was 1,200 m. Moreover, the areas of the apron is 30,800 m², of air terminal – 1,200 m².

4-storeyed building where dispatcher point is located has 1,300 m² area.

To provide security of the flights, radio and meteo equipments meeting requirements and standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have been installed at the Yevlakh Airort.
