Marabda-Tetriskaro part of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway in Georgia ready for operation

Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu - APA-Economics. Construction works in the Georgian part of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway are underway.

According to Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, the works in Marabda-Kartsakhi-Turkish border are carried out in 4 stages.

First stage – rehabilitation, reconstruction and construction of 29.2 km-Marabda-Tetriskaro section, the second stage - rehabilitation, reconstruction and construction of 49.7 km-Tetriskaro-Tsalka section, the third stage - rehabilitation, reconstruction and construction of 74.1 km-Tsalka-Akhalkalaki section and the fourth stage - rehabilitation, reconstruction and construction of 26.3 km-Akhalkalaki-Kartsakhi-Turkish border section, construction of 4.5 km-Akhalkalaki station and 156 m-Girkbulag bridge.

First three stages are carried out by Azeryolservis OJSC in accordance with contract agreement between Azeryolservis and MArabda Kartsakhi Railway LLC.

The works in Marabda-Tetriskaro section have already been completed and the section is ready for operation.

Length of tunnel on the border between Georgia and turkey is 4,450 m. Of this, 2,560 m-part from Turkish side have been completed.
