Baku. Aynur Aliyeva – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan is interested in acquisition of Air Lituanica Company, Lithuanian Eversus.lt reports.
According to the website, Azerbaijani company intends to acquire 49%-equity of Air Lituanica Company.
According to information, AZAL’s subsidiary company Azal Avia Cargo, as well as Silk Way Group may be interested in Air Lituanica.
AZAL’s official Maharram Safarli rejected the information.
“A while ago, Lithuanian delegation met with AZAL President Jahangir Asgerov in Baku. The Lithuanian side offered to launch flights between Azerbaijan and this country. AZAL President noted that Azerbaijan is ready to provide any support to Lithuania in this regard. However, no concrete step has been taken. Acquisition of Air Lituanica by Azerbaijan was not a topic of the discussion”, Safarli said.
Air Lituanica has been established by Vilnius Mayor’s Office. The company is now operating at loss.
