Cargo traffic through Trans-Caspian international transport route planned to be increased up to 5.5 mln tons per year

Baku – APA-Economics. President of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" JSCAskar Mamin chaired the first sitting of the working group of the coordination committee of the Trans-Caspian international transport route in Baku, inform.kz reported. .

Heads of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" JSC, Turkish state railroads, "Azerbaijan Railroads" JSC, "Georgian Railroad" JSC, " Aktau International Seaport" JSC, the seaport of Baku, "Azerbaijan Caspian Sea Company" JSC, "Batumi Seaport" JSC took part in the sitting of the coordination committee of the Trans-Caspian international transport route.

The issues regarding setting of the competition rates for transportation of cargo, formation of the common tariff policy for container trains were discussed, the press service of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" informs.

The sides agreed to take measures on organization of the container services on the route China-Kazkahstan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey with the use of the new railroad Zhezkazgan-Beineu, the capacity of the seaport of Aktau and the railroad under construction now Akhalkalaki-Kars by means of creating favorable conditions.

The participants of the meeting also agreed to develop measures for reaching the level of cargo traffic through the Trans-Caspian international transport route of 5.5 million tons per year.
