Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu - APA-Economics. Baku Shipyard will start to produce $8.5 mln-vessel from next month under the order of Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company, said the deputy chief manager Imamverdi Hasanov.
He said that State Caspian Shipping Company ordered the Shipyard to produce 3 ships with 80-crew. For the present, the Shipyard is assembling pantoons of mooring and drilling equipment under the order of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan. It will be completed November, 2014.
This project was signed between Baku Shipyard and BP. After assembling the project, which is estimated at $378 mln, the subsea construction vessel will be mobilized for Shahdeniz 2. The vessel will be assembled in April, 2017.
Regarding other vessels of the Shipyard, each of them will be assembled in 18 months.
Hasanov noted that $470 mln has been invested in the Shipyard so far: “Construction of the plant will consist of three stages. It’s considered $180 mln for the second stage. The plant received order from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. There are 500 workers in the plant, 40 of them are Singaporean specialists”.
